24-Nov-2017 -- This is the last out of 4 reports reaching confluence points during a one-week trip through Malawi. The story starts at 11°S 34°E and continues from 15°S 35°E.

At noon we started from Liwonde National Park. We went through the city of Zomba and had planned to drive directly to the second largest city of Malawi, named Blantyre (after Livingstone’s birthplace). But we had enough daylight available to make a little detour through the highlands, which are now converted into tea plantations.

The confluence is located in these tea-highlands. The area is densely populated and penetrated with plenty of tracks and footpaths. The actual challenge of visiting this confluence point is to find through this labyrinth, i.e. finding the correct route that leads to the confluence point. Obviously we had made the right choice, because we were able to reach a distance of 400 m by car. As we stopped, a crowd gathered around us. A path lead directly to the confluence point.

The confluence is located in a corn field with currently young sprouts on it. Nearby are mango trees and olive trees.

We returned the same way that we had come and reached Blantyre with the last remaining daylight.
