Map Symbol Legend for Country and Region maps
The combination of a confluence's type(Primary vs Secondary) and visit status can be determined by the shape, size, and nature of the confluence symbol, without referring to the symbol's color.
Depending on the overall size of the map, the size of the set of map symbols varies. The size referred to below is in comparison with other symbols in the same set.
Map Symbol set examples:   These show, from left to right, Primary Unvisited, Primary Incomplete, Primary Visited, Secondary Unvisited, Secondary Incomplete, Secondary Visited.

Confluence Page, Canadian confluences - maps: topo topo250
These links are available for all Canadian confluences.
topo and topo250 link to a Toporama page. The topo link takes you to a portion of the corresponding 1:50,000 topographic map sheet, and the confluence should be in the top left corner. The topo250 link takes you to a portion of the 1:250,000 topographic map sheet that contains the confluence.

Not all Canadian confluences have a map image available at 1:50,000.

Some confluences will not work because the latitude/longitude of the confluence, which is used to link to Toporama, is assumed by Toporama to be on the top of the map sheet, which, for example, is not the case for confluences that are along the 49th parallel border with the USA.

In order to view and use the map, you need the free AutoDesk MapGuide browser plug-in.
