17-Oct-2012 -- Having visited 45N 110E just a few days earlier, Berkhe did not need any persuading when asked whether there was time to fit in an attempt at 47N 108E on our late afternoon return to Ulaanbaatar. We were approaching from the south-east, on the main road from Choir. About 30 km from the target there was a lightly trafficked route running virtually due north – at the only engineered exit from the main road in the vicinity of 108E. This proved to be a good quality track, one of several which soon brought us to within about 1.5 km of the confluence. The final mile entailed skirting round to the east of a steep ridge.

The confluence point itself was well marked, with a steel beacon set in concrete.

To return to the main road we simply headed south-west on what proved to a fairly easy but at times much slower journey.
