21-Sep-2024 -- This was my first visit to a degree confluence. It sounded achievable. I set off by vehicle from Canberra around 4pm, hoping to catch sunset at the site and then cook a meal. I took the Monaro Hwy south then turned onto a dirt road, crossed the Murrumbidgee River, and travelled about 20km west into the highlands north of Cooma and south of Namadgi. The confluence is just east of Shannons Flat Road and not hard to get to - just park the car, climb over (or through) the stock fence, and wander uphill across a grassy paddock. The confluence has an excellent view to the west, but there was a freezing cold wind blowing which cut my dinner plans short.
