22-Jul-2008 -- While on our way to Tennant Creek along the Barkly Highway we knew we'd be passing quite close to this confluence on Soudan Station. We obtained permission from the station managers and headed off north from the highway to the confluence.
The confluence was located in the dry river bed of the Ranken River approx 6km north of the homestead. Luckily there was no water in the river or we wouldn't have made it to the exact spot. Parking about 700m from the confluence we walked the remainder of the way and followed the GPS to 20s 137e. The weather was cool with a strong breeze and the walk was enjoyable. This was a very quiet part of the world, not much wildlife only a couple of kangaroos which hopped away as we approached. We again would like to thank Anna and Jay for allowing us to visit this confluence.
