10-Sep-2005 -- As part of our expediton to cross the Simpson Desert we decided to take in a visit to a Degree Confluence or two. We tried to get permission to visit a couple within the Simpson Desert itself but were told that we couldn't take our vehicle. The hikes were a challenge we hadn't planned for so we decided to forgo those visits.

This confluence was only about 5km from the road on a cattle property on the western side of the Desert Park so we thought we'd make a visit. As you can see there's not much there. We found a gate and made a bee-line for the confluence, then followed our tracks out.

The demarcation line with South Australia is passing about 500 m south of the Confluence.
