(visited by Confluence Bayhead)

15-May-2004 -- We departed our dock for Confluence Point 40N 74W at noon on a beautiful spring day. The temperature was 73 degrees on the water with clear skies. As we pulled out of Manasquan Inlet seas were 3 feet on the ocean and would make for a bit of chop but overall a nice ride to the Confluence Point. From the inlet we headed South-East at a leisurely 15knts and at around 12:20 we reached our general destination. The wind and seas made it difficult to position the boat for all zeroes, each time we had one coordinate at all zeroes we drifted out on the other. We made several passes over the area hoping the wind and waves would push us to just the right spot but the all zeroes were not coming up, we did come real close. We spent a long time trying to reach the all zeroes, long enough that someone got sea sick with all the rocking and was able to christen the Confluence Point with a little vomit.

In addition to reaching the Confluence Point this was also the maiden voyage for our new boat. In celebration of our first trip and this great project we christened the boat “Confluence”, it was great to be a part of the project and we look forward to adding a few more points.
