12-Jul-2003 -- "Crazy about Crossroads" The Courier Mail June 20th 2003 - I stumbled across this feature article purely by chance as I don't normally buy Friday's paper. Reading this, I was hooked by the idea of visiting confluences.
I already had a trip planned to Kalgoorlie in Western Australia, to pick up my father in law and help him drive the 4500-ish kms to Townsville in Queensland to visit us. A little research revealed that my first confluence was on my wife's cousin Brendan's pastoral station. The Station, Mt Monger, is 60 kms drive out from Kalgoorlie and is also where my father in law, Pete, lives on his gold mine "Rosemary Goldmine".
Pete had explained to Brendan that I wanted to be "constipated", when I came to Mt Monger, so after explaining to Brendan that it was a "Confluence", we were on our way in search of the exact location. The GPS was vehicle mounted, so unable to be removed, so there was plenty of bush bashing to arrive at the actual spot.
