23-Feb-2024 -- I had previously visited this point 9 years ago, in February 2015, but decided to revisit it today, as it lay on my route to Oamaru from [-46,169]. At [-45.00486,169.98866], about 1.1km from the point, I drove North on a gravel farm road that took me 800 from the point; I hiked the rest of the way.

The point looked exactly the same as before, except that the field was now tilled dirt, rather than grass. Once again, I got the impression that this point seemed more like the western United States than New Zealand.
