18-Apr-2016 -- This is the first confluence I have ever visited.
After learning that the DCP existed I started looking for confluences that had not been visited yet. It's lucky that I live in China, because here there are still many. Some of them quite remote, but others are relatively easy to reach, this one is near a motorway so it wasn't particularly difficult.
To reach the confluence I took a flight from Shanghai, where I live, to Harbin, and there I rented a car. According to Google maps the closest villages to the confluence were Zhāngjiǎntún (张俭屯) and Kānglètún (康乐屯) (Tún means village), but asking people I was told that there is no Kānglètún in that area, so I headed for Zhāngjiǎn. All the people I met and asked questions to were very helpful and friendly, it would have been a lot more difficult to find the right village without them, as there are no signs and the roads aren't very good.
At the edge of Zhāngjiǎn I parked the car by an old couple's house (who told me they would keep an eye on the car for me) and started walking the remaining 1 km through the fields. They grow corn, but at that time of the year there wasn't any, they were burning the subble, and all the smoke didn't make the place very pleasant to hang around. Visiting during another season would probably be nicer, but with fully grown corn I don't think it would be as easy.
After taking the pictures I headed back to the car and drove to Qiqihar, where I spent the night. (Both this and the 49ºN 119ºE confluence are part of the same trip)
