10-Feb-2001 -- After hearing about your project on Lockergome's newsletter, I decided to make a submission. I connected my Garmin GPS 12 to a laptop computer, and off we went (me, my two sons, Ryno and Arno, and my brother-in-law, Gerhard de Bruin).
We drove out for about 25 kilometres in a southern direction until we reached 27° South. From there on we had to go on foot for about 2.5 kilometres in an eastern direction. We had to cross quite a few barb-wire fences to get there, and my eldest son, Ryno, also had an encounter with a bull. The bull did not take the fact very kindly that we were invading his grazing territory, and sort of helped my son to cross the land with a little more speed than he originally intended.
We reached the spot after about 1 hour, and took some pictures starting at North, and going around clockwise. Unfortunately the one of the GPS showing the co-ordinates did not come out very clear. I also include a screenshot of the track as it was plotted by the GPS on the map.
