08-Apr-2006 -- The area is in the Northern Cape province. The people farm mostly with sheep in this area. A normally very dry area but they had good rains this year.
We were a group of friends on our way to Richtersveld that decided we will try and find the Confluence. The group members were from left to right: Josel, Johan S, Gerda, Johan B, Linda, Lukas, Petri, Jacques, Marie, Max, Annetjie, David, Elize. Front: Andre, Marieta, Mauritz, and Christiaan. Martin is absent from the photo.
We left Upington in the morning and stopped at Augrabies for breakfast and viewed the falls that were in flood. On our way to Klein Pella from Augrabies we turned southwest off the main road onto a good gravel road in search of the Confluence. We then turned off the gravel road onto a farm road. To our surprise, this road took us to within a kilometer from the Confluence.
