10-Jul-2001 -- I had visited the area where this confluence is about 2 years ago and knew that there was a good road that went within a couple of kilometres of the spot, but I had a map that said there was a track to the west that went much closer.
On getting to a spot about 12 km due south I found that the track was on private property. Chatting to Nick, the son of the owner, I got permission to travel over 11.5 km (7 miles) due north on their property and then we walked about 400 metres east to the spot.
This area is pure white sand and although it has fairly good rainfall none of the soil is suitable for tilling. It is part of a sheep station and most of the native vegetation was cleared many years ago.
