#1: The confluence point is located 37 m away, in the stairwell between the two left-most apartment buildings. (It’s probably located close to the satellite dish.) This is also a view to the East.

03-Mar-2019 -- This is a remarkable Degree Confluence Point, as it is, I believe, the only one on the Australian continent that’s located within a building. Given how sparsely-populated Australia is, it’s actually quite surprising that any of its Degree Confluence Points lie within buildings. (In contrast, several Degree Confluence Points in Europe, North America, and Asia lie within buildings.) It’s also remarkable that there had been no visits to this point in more than 17 years.

To access the point, I took the dirt road north at 36.00246°S 145.99898°E. This dirt road, which runs just to the west of railroad tracks (and next to a golf course), passes 70 m west of the point. By walking along the edge of the property line, I got as close as 37 m (+/- GPS error of 5 m), but, to avoid bothering the residents, did not venture any closer. Looking at the point in Google Earth, it appears that it lies in the stairwell between the two left-most apartment buildings, close to the satellite dish that’s on the roof there.

Here is a remote-controlled aerial video, taken from 70 m West of the apartment building where the confluence point lies.
