(visited by Simon Lewis, Brett Saville, Raul Schneider, Gisela Schneider, Emily Schneider and Mathias Schneider) 06-Dec-2008 -- As the confluence is just off the coast, I visited this on the way to Salamaua from Lae. I was traveling with my friends Brett Saville and the Schneider family. Raul and Gisela with their children, Emily and Mathias are no relation to the namesake of Schneider Point on the coast nearby (they think). It takes about 45 minutes in our small boat to get to this point. It was the last weekend for both sets of friends in PNG this year as they are going to their respective homes. Brett to Australia and the Schneiders to Argentina. After visiting the confluence, we then traveled on to Salamaua, had lunch and did some snorkeling before returning to Lae. |
