12-Oct-2007 -- Continued from 11N 4E.
The next morning while we had breakfast, a few Kambali men visited us, looked around, and left again. We continued along the border to Benin and then to Babana. From Babana we went passing through Kubli to Luma, where we got onto the tarred road again. We drove on the public road through the Kainji National Park towards Wawa. At the main gate of the park, which is half way, we paid the entrance fee and continued onto the National Park road to the Oli River camp. This camp turned out to be 45 km from the gate.
On this path and around 35 km from the gate we got as close as 4.02 kilometres from the confluence 10N 4E. The elephant grasses were 2 meters high and there were lions in the park, therefore we did not make any further attempts to get to this Confluence.
We stayed at the Oli camp and got pummelled from all these insects. The next morning we left and went back the same way we came to the main gate. At the main gate we met George, a local vetenarian who offered to show us around.
We went with him to a local market at Galla where we saw again same Kambiri in their festive makeup. We spent the night at New Bussa, at the Hydro Hotel and left the next morning before sunrise back to Abuja.
