(visited by Marty Fokkink)

29-Jul-2018 -- My third confluence visit on a third continent, although this one is a second visit. But it was by far the easiest visit. Parking the car nearby, no hills, even footpaths to the site, it was easy. Also for my son Kamiel, who joined me on the other two visits when he was still young (20°S 65°W in Bolivia and 28°N 82°E in Nepal), it was his third visit. This time also my wife Saskia and daughter Rebecca joined us.

From Lira we drove about 30 km southeast towards Dokolo and Soroti. In the village of Agwata we took a left turn, drove a couple of kilometers over the unsealed road and parked the car. We could even have turned left there and drive a bit more, but as it is nice to hike in the countryside of Uganda, we took a walk of about one kilometer, talking to some friendly villagers, and reached the Confluence on a field with French beans. The owner, Nancy and her baby came to have a look, but didn’t mind at all that we were there!

It was a relaxing family trip on a Sunday afternoon, that we all enjoyed. Now up to some other Confluences in Northern Uganda!
