10-Jun-2009 -- The mission for the day was to scout an area where seismic exploration was to be conducted for one of our clients.
The confluence point 28N 9E happened to be in the North East corner of the block and I could not let this one pass away without stopping and claiming the point.
Due to security reasons in Algeria, it is mandatory to be escorted by military personnel when traveling across the Sahara desert here. Unfortunately, one other thing that is not allowed is to take group photos while in the presence of the military. However, they were kind enough to let me survey the area and take some photos of the landscape.
Terrain did not reveal any real obstacles to arrive at this point, however some wildlife was encountered. Very close to the site I came across evidence of Neolithic camp sites with artifacts scattered around, mainly made up of flint arrowheads and a fire hearth.
