14-Oct-2001 -- I have known about the project for some time, but as I live in France the majority of confluences have been visited, so it was not possible to do one there. I am currently in Quetta, Pakistan, working for ABCNews covering the Afghanistan situation. I noticed there was a confluence about half an hours drive south of Quetta, and it had never been visited, so I thought, why not me. So I hired a four wheel drive vehicle for the afternoon, invited three local guys, Ayub Tareen, Dour Mohammad, and Jamil Karzai, who work for us as translators and guides, and off we went. It was actually fairly easy to find, being only 200 metres from the main road south out of Quetta. The most difficult part was getting exactly on the spot and making my GPS read it exactly as I am using an old Garmin GPS 40. Anyway, we were successful, so I took a 360 degree view of the location which I have posted on my website.
