09-Apr-2004 -- It was raining the whole night and this morning it was still very cloudy and wet. So the Algerian coast came in sight only when we were already 10 nautical miles off.
This Confluence, 37N 4E, is located about 12 km northeast of Dellys, one of the smaller Algerian ports.
The views to southeast and south show us the ranges of the Tell Atlas, and the view to southwest the town of Dellys.
About 4 km farther west of Dellys there is a conspicuous promontory, Cap Bengut, with a prominent tower.
Although I know Algeria very well I cannot tell much more about Dellys, as - unbelievable but true - I have never been there.
Coordinator's Note: More information about Dellys (Photos, virtual museum, etc.) can be found here.
