26-Aug-2009 -- Phew, that was tough! After driving up a long, steep, rugged gravel road, and reaching a point just 0.35 miles south of the confluence point, I thought that the drive would turn out to be the toughest part of this visit. Boy, was I wrong! The confluence point is only 0.35 miles away, but reaching it required a difficult scramble down a steep, scrub covered hillside. Amazingly, I was able to get 'all zeros', but this took me close to an hour!
There was one sign of a previous visitor - an empty "Keystone Light" beer can on the ground at the confluence point. Generally speaking, I wish that visitors wouldn't litter the confluence point, so I almost removed the beer can. However, I decided to leave it so that future visitors could continue to photograph it, to see how it decays (or doesn't decay) over time.
