17-Mar-2009 -- The confluence lies in a steep valley about 10 meters south-east from the small river in deep bush. With our jeep we where able to drive into 400 meters distance to CP.
When we walked down, we got stopped the same point the previous team got stopped. It was too steep to get down when we where in about 40 meters distance to the cache. So we went back up and walked about 1km along the small valley, where we found a place where we where able to get down to river. After that, we walked back along the river until it was not possible anymore, so we went trough the bush uphill on the other side, where we again walked back (now being on the other side of the valley). Arrived above the location, we wend down, trough the bush, and arrived at the confluence point. Overall it is a very steep area with lots of bush work and mosquitoes, also the river does not really help.
After taking the pictures we went back up the hill (still being on the other side from our car - it took us about 3 hours to cross the river, so we thought there should be an easier way) and walked around the whole valley, which again took us about 2 hours.
Picture #1 gives you an idea of the general area, #2 shows the river, #3 shows the GPS at location (error only 9 meters!), #4 to #7 are views to north, east, south and west.
