03-Jul-2005 -- We were travelling in a convoy of five vehicles on the Hunter's Road that hugs the border between Zimbabwe and Botswana. The border between the two countries is an open one to allow animals to roam free. We were on the Botswana side. I visited this area on a previous occasion and decided to record the Confluence whenever I am in the vicinity again.
We stopped on the Hunter's Road about 1.2 km away from the Confluence. We walked through typical Mopane bushveld to the Confluence. There were indication of elephant activity everywhere, namely tracks, dung and broken branches.
On our way to and away from the Confluence we saw elephant, kudu, roan, sable, giraffe, oryx and fresh hyeana tracks. It was only later on when I tried to register the visit that I realised that the Confluence is actually in Zimbabwe.
