23-Jun-2005 -- We actually wanted to find this Confluence while biking but it all came a bit different. After having driven for 2 hours, we arrived near Uyo and started searching for Mbak. The maps we had were pretty accurate and so it did not take long that we were pretty close to the spot. We turned off the paved roads and entered a more remote landscape, just to find a bunch of people clearing a part of the road. Those guys were not really happy to see us and gave us a bit of a problem. But we managed to get through them.

A few minutes later we arrived at a little junction, which was the village of Mbak. We were close, very close. (Therefore, no need to bike.) A 100-meter walk did the job to find the 5N 8E confluence in a little backyard of a house. The two GPS we had with us said something slightly different so we decided on the confluence spot.

The people were pretty friendly and let us take some pictures and the whole village was rewarded with Minerals. Of course the crowd attracted attention and made the chief come out to see what was going on. He wasn't that friendly but after some discussions we were "released" and ready to go back to our "a little hostile" youths.

The biking was then postponed to a bike ride in Ikot Abasi.
