21-Jun-2004 -- Although our visit on June 21st, 2004 was the
second visit to 57°N 35°E confluence point it was the first summer visit. Our
report allows to compare winter and summer scenery.
This confluence point is easily accessible from the Moscow - St. Petersburg
highway. You should only be aware that some maps show a bridge over Tvertca river
near this confluence point, which does not exist. The only way is through
Torzhok.
We approached this confluence point from the South, over agricultural lands, and
made the standard photographs.
The walls of a quarry west of this confluence point had swallow burrows (compare
the West view from the Confluence Point
and the closer picture #6).
Unfortunately the swallows are not present on this photograph because they were
faster than our ability to shoot with a camera.
The Tvertca river is located several hundred meters North of the Confluence Point
(compare the North view from the
Confluence Point and the closer picture
#7). Its bank was covered by a variety of fragrant wild flowers.
