21-Mar-2006 -- After meeting Dawn's cousin Sue and her husband Terry at Koonalda homestead, an abandoned travel stop on the old Eyre Highway, we headed to this confluence via Koonalda cave.
The confluence is located 3.2 kilometres east of the track that we were following. Terry and I drove to the spot over low saltbush in my vehicle and the girls stayed with the other car on the track. After we returned from the confluence we continued on to Cook, which is a railway siding on the Trans line.
There are only 4 permanent residents at Cook, and after meeting the manager of the railway operations, he invited us to spend the night in one of the railway houses.
