02-Sep-2006 -- On Saturday 2nd September 2006, we decided that it was time to log another Confluence that was close to our home town of Clare. Having viewed the photos taken during summer, over 5 years previously, we thought that it would be interesting to see how they would look taken in early spring. With perfect weather of 25°C, we left home and made use of OziExplorer Mapping programme to take us on the many dirt roads in the area, to drive within 400m of the Confluence.

Leaving the car parked on the side of the road, it was time to set off on foot towards the direction of the Confluence. Crossing a small dry creek, we made our way up a small slope, to the top of a small hill where the confluence was located within 20m from the top. The size of the crops in the area would have been a real concern to the local farmers who crop this land.

The Capital City of South Australia, Adelaide, had just recorded its driest winter on record, only receiving 53mm of rain during the winter period. The size of the crops in the area was a third of the size than they should be. The crop was just 15cm tall, usually this time of the year they should be well over 40cm tall.

With photos taken, it was time to head back home, this time taking the long way home via many dirt roads in the area through Robertstown and Burra. It would be very interesting to see these crops in a good year.
