09-Sep-2006 -- With my wife entombed in business meetings at Ruttgers Bay Lake Lodge, I took off for some confluence hunting and Geocaching. I headed south and worked my way to a county road that would take me to within 5 miles of the confluence. A gravel road led the way into the confluence, it was only 50 yards east of the 94W line. As I was approaching the confluence there was a guy washing his truck. I got out and introduced myself, his name was Mike. Told him what I was doing. I am pretty sure that Mike thought I was nuts, he's probaly right. It turned out that the confluence was not on his land but on a relative's and he didn't think they would mind if I went in looking for the spot. We walked down the road together right to the 46N line and in I went. I found the confluence quickly and got a zero reading on the GPSr without too much trouble. I took the required photos and headed back to the car. Mike was still washing his truck so I talked to him for a few minutes, hoping to prove to Mike that I was not crazy(not sure if I succeded). I got in the car and took off to find some quick geocaches near Lake Mile Lacs.
It was a great day!!!!
