06-Oct-2006 -- This confluence point is located only 90 metres off the Central Arnhem Road quite close to the crossing of the Goyder River. The river crossing makes a pleasant break on the long drive through the Arnhem Land wilderness.
The surrounding country has no towns, farms or grazing properties for 200 kilometres in any direction and during the wet season it isn't possible to drive here. Late in the dry season, most creeks are dry and the few rivers are quite low and much of the country has been burnt or is burning. At time of my visit the area around the confluence had been burnt, making the walk easy. In a few months, following rains it will have a thick growth of grass and shrubs again.
