21-Oct-2006 -- Visiting confluence 63°N 10°E was planned almost two years ago. Not that far from where the confluence is located is a cabin from NTNUI, the sports club of NTNU (Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim) which I planned to use as start point for the confluence trip. But I didn't catch the chance to do the trip before this week-end in October. During a hiking-trip on Ilfjellet, a mountain area south of Trondheim, I finally visited the confluence! Coming from Soknedal, I slept one night in the tent (actually not in the cabin as planned two years ago) and reached the confluence the day after. Really nice area, easy to reach and in a typical landscape of Sør-Trøndelag!
I took the compulsory pictures, crossed the river which is just 50m away from the confluence and had a lunch break on the hill south of the point with a really nice view over the lake near the confluence. After the visit, I continued south-west to the peak of Ilfjellet where I spent the night on 1150m, just a few hundred meters away from the peak of the mountain. The view to the mountain area of Trollheimen was fantastic, but unfortunately, the next morning was cloudy. But I got a first feeling of the coming winter with new snow and a white mountain landscape! Also really nice!
