(visited by Peter McDowall and Peter Armstrong) 17-Jul-2007 -- Travel to the point is via the sandover Highway 400km north east of Alice springs to Ooratippra Station.Turn South at the Ooratippra signpost cross the Sandover river and follow the road through the Homestead. Prior permission must be obtained. The track continues South alongside Ooratippra Ck. at the yards at olld Ooritippra Station ruins turn left and the confluence point is within 1.5 km. Semi open country allowed us to travel to within 50 m of the point. We thent went on foot and cast about till we were on the spot. We were able to locate the confluence point to within the error limits of the GPS (6m). A rock was buried on the site and the requsite photos taken. We Continued on with our vegetation survey. |
