06-Apr-2007 -- Habíamos partido hacía una semana 6 camionetas en una travesía por la Puna argentina, travesía que tenía un doble objetivo: por una parte era fotográfica y por otra, llevarles a las localidades pequeñas asentadas en la misma ropa, medicamentos y víveres. Así llegamos a Tolar Grande, Antofalla, Vega Botijuela, Vega Las Quinuas y El Peñón.

Durante el recorrido por el Volcán Galán y mientras el grupo se encontraba tomando fotografías de los flamencos rosados que se encontraban en la Laguna Diamante, nos dirigimos hacia esta confluencia, que tiene el extraño mérito de ser la mas alta a la que se ha llegado en vehículo motor.

La particularidad tal cual relatara un amigo, Eduardo Cinícola que la alcanzó en dos oportunidades, es que se encuentra en el interior del cráter volcánico más grande del mundo. De forma elipsoidal y mide unos 40Km su diámetro mayor (norte-sur) y 30Km en sentido Este-Oeste.

Después de un recorrido por un campo de piedras y arena arribamos a la misma, tomamos las fotografías de rigor para Confluence.org y colocamos una piedra mas en la apacheta que Eduardo dejara en su última visita.

Fue un gran orgullo haber llegado a la misma, tanto por las características del terreno como por la altura en que se encuentra (4.813 mts)

06-Apr-2007 -- A week ago a group of six trucks left from Puna with a dual purpose: one was photography, the other to bring to small towns cloths, medicines and food. This is how we reached Tolar Grande, Antofalla, Vega Boutijuela, Vega las Quinuas and El Peñón.

On our journey around the Galán volcano, while the crew was photographing pink flamingoes over Diamante lagoon, we approached this confluence, which has the merit of being the highest one reached on a motorized vehicle.

Its main characteristic, as related by a friend, Eduardo Cinícoloa, who has visited it twice, is that it is found inside the largest volcanic crater on earth; of ellipsoidal shape at 40 km on the north south axis and 30 km on the east west one.

After a stretch of rocks and sand we arrived, took the photos and placed another stone in the place where Eduardo left one on his visit.

We take great pride in this visit due to the terrain and the altitude.
