On our Indian trip we had a stop in Jaisalmer which of course is quite near to a non-visited confluence. We rented a motorbike and set off eastward out of the city. It was freaky being in Indian traffic and also riding a manual motor bike. I was told only girls ride automatics so we had to go with the manual. The highway eastward out of the city passed south of the confluence by about 7km. But by that time I knew that we were in trouble. There was nothing but military compounds north of the highway. There was no way I was going to try and get past the checkpoints. There were a few roads that went north off the main highway but they all led to military gates. I had feared this was going to be the case anyway since google maps hinted of such a complex.

So there you have it! We failed! For anyone attempting the confluence, there may be access from north of the confluence unless the confluence is actually on military property. In that case I doubt a civilian and especially foreign civilian will have any chance at victory.
