15-Jun-2007 -- After a three-hour trek across the desert, traversing many sand dunes, we arrived at the DCP. This area along the Libyan/Egyptian border is known for its many landmines and unexploded ordnance from WW II and from more recent conflicts.
A very dangerous place for the common man but for us, it's our everyday place of work. The four of us are Explosive Ordnance Technicians (EOD Techs). We work here in the area for an oil company, inspecting seismic lines for explosive contaminants.
While scouting in the South of our sector today, we knew we were close to this DCP and decided to probe our way towards it. Gladly we found no evidence of explosive contaminants and were able to log another CP.
