31-Jul-2007 --
Reaching this confluence required just a 1-mile hike, but it was a blazing hot Summer day - in the mid 90s Fahrenheit - so I was glad when it was over. I took the same route as the previous visitors - hiking westward from the River Pines campground. However, I had to detour to the north of a field of corn that probably wasn't growing when the previous visitors were here (in late Autumn, 2004).
The confluence point lies in an open field of wild grass. The two visitors back in 2001 had reported that it was in a cornfield, but the previous visitor, in 2004, also reported grassland. So, apparently the cornfield was left to lie fallow sometime between 2001 and 2004. (Nonetheless, corn is still being grown just to the south - between the confluence point and the campground.)
