17-Dec-2007 -- When we attempted this confluence 3 years ago we had to turn around before reaching the goal. This time we drove straight to the little farm where we had started our hike last time. We were looking forward to meeting the owners again. However, when we got to the house we were greeted by the mother of the lady who had helped us last time. When we explained who we were she said she had heard about us and that her daughter often talked about the unusual visit 3 years ago. We learned that the daughter and her husband had moved to Korea just 3 month before to look for work. The mother now took care of the house and grandchild. The reason for the move was that the farm did not make enough money.
Remembering footpaths in the forest we did not hike through the fields this time, but tried to stay on dirt roads and footpaths as long as possible. This approach got us within about 0.75km of the confluence. At this point we entered a dry wash heading in the general direction of the confluence. While walking on the big rocks and scrambling over some dry falls was not exactly like walking on a path we at least did not have to deal with vegetation which can be quite dense in these parts. At about 65m from the confluence we left the wash and climbed up a slope to the confluence.
The point is located on a slope in a bamboo grove which showed signs of recent activity, i.e. cutting.
On our return hike we almost stepped on a snake. We didn’t know what kind it is, so we treated is as if it was dangerous.
