09-Jun-2008 -- After our second confluence visit for our trip this morning at 26S-133E, we headed further west on the Mulga Park Road to log our third confluence visit for this trip and our second for the day at Confluence S26 E132.
As we approached the grid where there were two tracks in reported by Joachim Krebs and Ulrich Leardi from their August 2005 visit, the track that they took was now very faint and had not been used for a very long time, so we took the right hand side track that should take us directly to the confluence.
As we approached the point where the old Morris Minor sits, the grid that crosses over into the next paddock had sheets of iron across it, so we then turned and followed the track west along the fence line until we were 120 metre from the confluence. As we approached the old fence, there were many Finches sitting on the fence, a sure sigh that there must be a permanent source of water very close by.
Picking a suitable place to get through the old barbed wire fence, we made our way to the confluence, and even before we arrived at the location, it was very easy to locate, as the stick tripod that Joachim and Ulrich had erected in August 2005 was still standing. The land that we were now standing in had not been stocked for many years, which would explain why the stick tripod was still in tack. Taking the required photos, we headed out back to the Mulga Park Road and further west.
It would be a further two days before we were able to log yet another confluence for our trip. What made our next visit so special was that we would be the first to log a visit to 25S-130E.
