#1: View of the point

28-Jul-2008 -- On a nice summer day, we went to visit the point 50°N-5°E. It was the ninth visit of this point. Very easy to find, in the forest a few meters away from the road from Gribelle to Haut-Fays.

Because of the mid dense cover of the leaves, some time was necessary to get the exact coordinates on the GPS, very close to a big oak. The precision given by the GPS was 6m. If we compare with the previous visits, the site has not changed.

After this visit, we went to visit a special point, which is not a part of the Degree Confluence Project: the triple point of the borders of Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany, not far from Clervaux. Very interesting and recommended! After that, we planned to visit the point 50°N-6°E in Luxembourg (the only point in this country), but a serious storm was coming, and we decided to postpone this visit.
