03-Oct-2008 -- This is my 14th CP visit.
This weekend my family and I decided to travel to the forests of northern Iran. On return, we were passing rather close to this CP while travelling from Tehran to Mašhad, so we decided to visit the point.
Directions: In the road from Šāhrūd to Sabzevār, 10 kilometers after Mīāmey, there is a road toward Bīārjomand. After Bīārjomand the villages are Khāneh Khvodī and Qal`eh-ye Bālā. The point is located in the slope of the hills south to Qal`eh-ye Bālā. There is a gravelled road which passes within 60 meters from the point. We stopped there and I climbed the hill and reached the point. My wife and the children stayed at the car because the slope of the hill was too steep (they were already within the 100 meters of the point!).
The land coverage was typical of the semi-arid climates of the Iranian deserts.
When I was on the hills, I was surprised to see that the mosque of the village was equipped with solar cells (A high-tech mosque in a remote village in the central deserts of Iran!)
