19-Nov-2008 -- While in Minneapolis for a conference, I took a break one day to visit the nearby confluence [45,-93], which is one of those relatively rare confluence points that lies within an urban or suburban area. Lacking a car, I used public transit: First, an express bus to downtown Saint Paul, and then bus #64, which passes within 1/2 mile of the confluence point. From the bus stop, it was an easy 1/2 mile walk each way (albeit in temperatures around 0 Celcius) to and from the confluence point, which lies in the front yard of a home on Polaris Place, near its junction with Hollaway Avenue.
I was able to pass within 24 feet (+/- GPS error of 16 feet) of the confluence point by staying on the public sidewalk. A brightly-colored child's playhouse sits in the front yard; the confluence point appears to be close to this.
