16-Feb-2009 -- This was my first solo visit to a confluence. It was remarkably easy for an unvisited (although secondary) site.
I towed my snow machine up to Murphy Dome, outside of Fairbanks. From there, it was an easy 40 mile snow machine trip along a trail and slough until I was a third of a mile from the site. Then a short, but slow, walk through deep snow and undergrowth until I reached the (entirely unremarkable) confluence.
There were moose tracks everywhere. But the only wildlife I saw was a moose head (apparently left by hunters) that I accidentally ran over on the slough.
