29-May-2009 -- I was on the second day of a four day GPSing weekend (geodashing and confluence hunting). 45N75W was the last of three confluences successfully reached on my trip.

The confluence lies some 200 meters beyond the end of Ault Drive in the small community of Ingleside situated between the 401 highway and the St Lawrence Seaway. Several lots have been marked off for development on either side of the road here and a foundation had recently been completed on lot 45A. As noted by Stephen Decarie in his September 07 visit, a ditch continues on from there in the direction of the confluence. In the fall, he found the ditch dry and an easy walk to the confluence. Unfortunately, for my visit in the spring, the ditch had plenty of water in it (photo #5 taken from the end of Ault Drive) and even the cleared area beside it had patches of water. Wearing my waterproof boots, however, I was able to get back to the vicinity of the confluence without too much difficulty.

The confluence was on the opposite side of the ditch that was now 3 or 4 meters wide and much deeper than my boots would let me wade (see photos #2 to the east and #3 to the west). Stretching my arm over the water, my GPSr read 17 meters from the confluence. Photo #1 shows the area of the confluence south of the water. Photo #4 to the north shows the dense vegetation natural to the area.

Returning to my car I chatted briefly with John and Clod, two contractors working on the construction on lot 45A. Clod identified a feather I had picked up in the marsh coming back as a wild turkey feather.
