#1: View of the DCP

(visited by Harald Goldsche)

03-Oct-2009 -- This day was perfect for a visit with my iphone 3G. It was holiday, the Day of German Reunion.

The weather was cold about 12°C and very windy. Today the first autumn storm is expected. Rain had turned everything into mud.

I started my Motion X GPS and set a new waypoint at 58°N-09°E. I was better equipped than at my first visit two years ago. My navi in the car showed that I was quite near the confluence but could reach it as that BMW is not the best vehicle to drive on a field. So I could not prove that I was at the confluence.

Anyway I stepped into the field my iphone in my hand an hit the confluence exactly. The photo doesn't show it clearly. Probably I should have put my iphone on the ground. But who in the world would do that to an iphone?

When I returned to my car a farmer asked me what I was looking for. I told him about this interesting point that he didn't knew before. Afraid that masses of people now would invade this place I could calm him, that only some freaks are informed about confluences.

I took photos from each main direction and wondered how I ever could get my shoes clean again. I should have taken my rubber boots with me.

The flag on the map # 2 doesn't show the DCP. It is abt. 1 km to the SW. You can get there on farmer roads, which are closed for public traffic. I admit to having used them by car without permission!
