31-Mar-2010 -- We passed in 7,97 kilometers distance of this confluence on the ferry from Georgetown to Belawan near Medan. On that day there was no land visible from the position closest to the confluence. It is rather far out and doubtful that the returning ferry is passing closer. Maybe a fish trawler would take You out if You'd ask around at the harbor.
The ferry ride across the Malacca straight was a memorable experience. It took more than six hours, during which we were blasted by extra loud Indonesian pop songs coming from a karaoke CD. It didn't take long before everyone was dancing and yelling taking each others pictures with their cellphones and sharing food.
