30-Apr-2010 -- Los recorridos por las confluencias españolas nos llevan hoy desde un valle a otro.

Salimos de Valladolid hacia la confluencia y elegimos ir por el valle trazado por el río Esgueva hasta las tierras de la confluencia N42-W4 dibujadas por el Río Franco. Atravesamos tierras de la Provincia de Palencia, para nada más entrar en la provincia de Burgos, conseguir nuestro objetivo sin dificultad alguna, pues como veréis por las fotos, es de fácil acceso. Desde donde dejamos el coche solo hemos dado un pequeño paseo por un camino de tierra.

Las abundantes lluvias de este invierno y primavera han favorecido encontrarnos en este páramo castellano un colorido más verde y florido de lo habitual.

La confluencia se encuentra dentro de un campo de cereal, no se si cebada o trigo que es lo que se suele sembrar por estos campos. Como es habitual en este tipo de explotaciones no existe cercado y el terreno es llano. De todas maneras, y como aviso a futuros visitantes, puede que no siempre esté sembrado de trigo, pues, dependiendo mucho de las subvenciones los agricultores eligen uno u otro cultivo.

Después de esta visita digamos “geográfica” nos fuimos de “turismo” a ver el cercano pueblo de Baltanás, se trata de una pequeña población un poco más grande que Cobos de Cerrato, donde además de dar un paseo visitamos la iglesia de San Millán.

Aunque no es nuestro caso, para los amantes del queso, no dejéis de aprovecharos del buen queso de oveja de la comarca del Cerrato.

30-Apr-2010 -- Today the tour across the Spanish confluences carry us from one valley to another.

We left Valladolid towards the confluence and chose to go along the valley drawn by the river Esgueva to the lands of N42-W4 the confluence outlined by the river Franco.

We cross the province of Palencia to achieve, as soon as we enter in the province of Burgos, our goal without any difficulty, so as you can see from the pictures, it has got an easy access. From where we parked the car we have only gone for a short walk along a track.

The heavy rains of this winter and spring have helped this Castilian wasteland find a greener hue and more colourful flowers than usual.

The confluence is located within a field of grain, not if barley or wheat that is what is commonly planted in these fields. As usual in this type of farm the terrain is flat. Nevertheless, and as a warning to future visitors, it may not always be sown wheat, therefore, heavily dependent on subsidies farmers choose one or the other crop.

After this visit "geographical" went to "tourism" to see the nearby town of Baltanás, it is a small town a little larger than Cobos de Cerrato, where we took a walk to visit the church of San Millán.

Although it is not our preference, for cheese lovers, do not fail to benefit from the good sheep cheese of the region of Cerrato.
