This is the first of five CP visits during my stay in China.
We drove from Taiyuan to Yanchuan at around 9:00 A.M. First we changed cars at the house of the nephew of Yan Lei. Priest Zhan and Yan Lei joined me on confluence hunting. We met the parents of Yan Lei. They offered us cooked corn, which was dilicious.
Priest Zhan stayed in Italy for four years and three years in the USA. When he was in Italy he visited us in the Netherlands. He can speak English very well.
Yan Lei drove the car. He became father when he was twenty. This is actually still quite normal in China.
We took the G5 and G20, had lunch after three hours driving and at Suide we went on the G210 to Yanchuan.
We took a sandy road into the mountains which seemed to go near the CP. There is a road which goes closer to the point, but I did not prepare this trip well enough to find this road
Fortunately I could reach the point within 100 meters after walking up and down the wrong mountain. The zero's are more uphill but it was too hard to climb and I did not have time to find a better way.
Going back was more difficult then I thought. I had to climb back on the hill but I could not. Lost my notebook twice. Yan Lei finally gave me a hand and I could climb back on the hill.
Priest Zhan waited in the car.
After returning to the car we had to change shirts and went to Yan'An. A famous city for the communist party. Chairman Mao and his fellow communist party members stayed there during the civil war in China.
