English version

English version

24-Feb-2013 -- After our visit this morning to the point 12N 2W, we continue on the road N1 towards the point 12N 3W. In Boromo, just after the bridge on the Mouhoun river (The Black Volta), we follow a broad track towards north until Oury. From there, we follow with the GPS a track towards the North-East. It becomes very narrow between the shrubs, but a car can pass. We finally arrive very close to the point.

Like the point 12N 2W, it is also in a cotton field. There is a small hut used as a kitchen by the farmers during the season of the cultures. Nothing special around the point, just some trees (shea trees, a beautiful tamarind).

We return to Boromo, and we buy some peanuts and small biscuits with sesame, then we go along the river to try to see the elephants which are in the area. They have babies and they are rather nervous and discrete. With a guide, we can finally find them, but they escape as soon as we approach and hide between the trees and shrubs. They come often to drink in the evening in the river, but we must return in Ouagadougou. We will be back another time!
