17-Aug-2013 -- This confluence visit is the second out of 2 visits that I made during a week-end in France. The story starts from 46°N 04°E.
After visiting 46°N 04°E in the early morning, I cycled through the Massif Central all day with several ups- and downs. I didn’t plan to visit the confluence on the same day, but when I reached Le Puy with 15 km to go and an hour of daylight left, I thought I could give it a try. From Le Puy, I pushed the pedals as hard as I could in order to reach the confluence before daylight faded.
When I reached the village Lantriac, where the confluence is located, the sunset had already occurred. Unfortunately, the road system is confusing (as previous visitors have already mentioned). So I cruised around in town while losing precious time. Finally, I abandoned the bicycle and made a straight beeline approach on foot while climbing over what-ever obstacles.
The confluence point is just 20 m from the county road D633 called Rue de l’Estrade. From there, I took the pictures, because it was too dark to document the exact location which is in the bush bordering two private properties. The exact location is in a tiny vegetable-bed.
I continued the bicycle trip rolling out my sleeping bag on a meadow about an hour later and riding back to Lyon the next day.
