05-Jun-2014 -- This confluence point was a real treat. It's easy to hike to, as it's located atop a small sagebrush-covered ridge, just 1/4 mile south of Bartlett Point Road.

I drove to the area starting from the resort town of Ketchum. A scenic but steep mountain road - Trail Creek Road - took me over a summit (7800' elevation), and then down into a scenic valley, where the road got wider and smoother. (Notice how I used the word "scenic" twice in the previous sentence. I could have used it many times more to describe this area!) Bartlett Point Road branches eastward off Trail Creek Road, and - after just a few miles - takes you 1/4 mile north of the confluence point.

Although this is an alpine confluence point - located at 6700 feet elevation - it looks a lot like the lower-elevation desert confluence points that I had visited in Nevada a couple of days earlier. This tells me that this area gets little precipitation. Nonetheless, there were several wildflowers growing nearby.

Here is a remote-controlled aerial video of this confluence point.
