21-Feb-2016 -- This was disappointing. I was looking forward to a roughly 2.5 km (each way) hike over rather interesting terrain, but instead got thwarted by a “No Trespassing” sign.
I began by driving (along a rough dirt road) to park at Tarrant’s Gap Road at 34.01074°S 148.97972°E - about 2.2 km from the point ('as the crow flies’). (I think this is the same place where Rainer Mautz stated hiking during his visit 4 years earlier.) After parking, I entered a gate and hiked down a doubletrack trail, towards the northeast. However, at 1.8 km from the point, I ran into a second gate - this time with a “No Trespassing” sign - so I was forced to abandon this visit.
